Project Title/Research Interests: Health equity, child and families, adverse and positive childhood experiences

Background:
Dr. Jaime La Charite is a general pediatrician, internist, and population health researcher. Dr. La Charite previously completed residency at Johns Hopkins in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Urban Health Primary Care. She recently graduated from the National Clinician Scholar Program at UCLA. She has since transitioned into UCLA’s Translational Science Institute (CTSI) TL1 Translational Science Fellowship and Specialty Training and Advanced Research (STAR) program to obtain her doctoral degree in Health Policy and Management. Her overarching goal is to optimize local public services and resources for children and families to increase positive childhood experiences and reduce adverse childhood experiences to improve health trajectories. Through the CTSI TL1 Fellowship, she is interested in applying system, team, and translational science methods to address these community health challenges.
