The NIH will be adjusting the following xTrain module functions in eRA Commons on March 30, 2023 in order to streamline workflows and present a more user-friendly interface. The xTrain module is used to process research training appointment reappointment information for institutional training, career development, fellowships, and research education awards.
Major adjustments include:
- Trainee Signatures to be required on reappointments and amendments
- NIH Agency Staff will no longer be able to delete records that have been submitted by recipient organizations (recipient organizations will maintain the ability to delete documents)
- More efficient management and processing of terminations and appointments
