Research Go

The UCLA Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI) has released a website featuring tools, templates, guidance and go-to contacts for clinical research.

ResearchGo is a virtual clinical research resource that provides a single portal to a wealth of resources, expertise, and best practices for investigators and research staff to facilitate efficient, compliant and ethical study conduct and management.

This collaborative effort across a number of organizations and administrative units was built to leverage existing resources and create new content where readily accessible resources currently don't exist.

Whether you're a principal investigator or supporting clinical research in some other capacity, this website can help you:

  • Design a Study: Resources to help you think through your project, learn about feasibility and regulatory requirements, plan your budget, explore funding opportunities, and help for those seeing study design assistance and more.
  • Set-Up a Study: Important information for pre-study setup including OnCore, IRB submissions, regulatory requirements such as FDA, IRB, ClinicalTrials.Gov registration, billing, coding and pricing guidance and more.
  • Conduct a Study: Guidelines on study management, how to access Electronic Health Records (EHR), what to do if you need regulatory support, how to manage research records, where to go for research ethics assistance and more.
  • Close-Out a Study: CTSI study closure information, publishing guidance and resources, how to update results on ClinicalTrials.Gov, record retention policies relating to research, close out reports and more.

The Goals of ResearchGo are to:

  • Promote excellence in the quality of clinical research management through information and education.
  • Facilitate effective and timely clinical research initiation by improving institutional processes and providing clinical research protocol, regulatory, budget, and financial assistance and tools.
  • Increase awareness of clinical trials in the community and with our Partners through education and community participant recruitment outreach activities.
  • Interface with institutional/industry partners to support enhanced clinical research best-practice and efficiency.

Whether you are new faculty or an experienced researcher, you may find the website helpful, especially resources such as links to the Study Activation Team, the Office of Regulatory Affairs (DSMB, Scientific Review), Coverage Analysis, and ResearchConnect. The website also includes quick links to numerous resources across campus, and a search function to help you find what you're looking for.
