Project Title/Research Interests: Dr. Vongsachang is interested in addressing disparities in access and referral to care related to mental health, substance use disorders, and homelessness from the emergency department.

Background:
Dr. Vongsachang is a current Post-Doctoral Fellow with the National Clinician Scholars Program at UCLA. She completed her emergency medicine training at the Los Angeles General Medical Center, one of the largest safety net hospitals in the United States. One of her driving forces to pursue emergency medicine, and with specific interest in social emergency medicine, is that she can care for those who are most vulnerable regardless of citizenship status, race, ethnicity, or ability to pay. Dr. Vongsachang's research interests include addressing health disparities and outcomes with regard to behavioral health, such as substance use disorders and mental health disorders, from the emergency department.
