Harnessing the research and scientific brainpower needed to treat and prevent the next pandemic is the University of California – National Labs Antiviral Treatments Targeting All Coronaviruses and Key RNA viruses (ATTACK) Consortium.
With a CTSI Catalyst award to support its efforts, the University of California and National Labs Antiviral Treatments Targeting All Coronaviruses and Key RNA Viruses (UC-NL ATTACK) Consortium held its inaugural conference in late 2021, held at the California NanoSystems Institute facilities at UCLA. Made up of a partnership between 6 UCs and 2 National Laboratories, as well as support from industry partners and more, this collaborative and interdisciplinary consortium are focused on developing new antivirals to tackle the current COVID-19 pandemic be prepared for future pandemics through drug discovery and development of antiviral drugs.
Supported by both the CNSI and CTSI, the ATTACK Consortium has also received significant grants facilitation support from the CTSI.
