Dr. Alejandra Casillas participated in a national workgroup to improve medical education for First Generation (First Gen, First in family to attend college) graduates. From this work, the group has produced a toolkit on the AAMC website: Tools and Resources for First-Generation Medical School Students and Advisors. This guide will serve as a valuable resource for supporting our First Gen students.
Casillas is an assistant professor of medicine in residence in the division of general internal medicine and health services research at UCLA and co-director of the UCLA CTSI TL1 Program and investigator for the CTSI Community Engagement and Research Program.
