Integrated Medical Records Help Reduce Disparities in HIV Care

The use of laboratory information exchanges by health care providers led to improved care for patients with HIV, eliminating the treatment gap between whites and Latinos, and reducing the gap between whites and blacks. Laboratory information exchanges contain information about prescription filling and lab results to augment medical records.
