UCLA CTSI Joins SMART IRB

UCLA CTSI is among the 64 CTSA hubs utilizing SMART IRB, the Streamlined, Multisite, Accelerated Resources for Trials IRB Reliance platform. SMART IRB is a platform designed to enable collaborative research using single IRB review. It also eases common challenges and burdens associated with initiating multisite research and provides a roadmap for institutions to implement the NIH Single IRB Review policy. Through a flexible master IRB reliance agreement, standard operating procedures, and complementary tools and resources, SMART IRB supports and encourages collaboration and harmonization across the nation.
