CTSI Biostatisticians Collaborate with UCLA Dentistry to Receive $5 Million NIH Award

UCLA Dentistry has received $5 million to study extracellular RNA in saliva. Studying biological markers in saliva could yield a new method for detecting stomach cancer and other diseases. CTSI biostatisticians, Drs. David Elashoff and Xiaoyan Wang, assisted with the study design, preliminary data and grant writing that led to this NIH Common Fund award. Furthermore, Drs.
