Dr. Steve Grant (NIDA's Division of Neuroscience and Behavior Coordinator for Accelerating the Translation of Research Findings) is coming to UCLA to offer a grant writing workshop on NIH’s new clinical trial policy and how it will affect new proposals and the subsequent review process. The new policy changed the definition of what kinds of human subject research are considered clinical trials, and will affect new proposals submitted starting January 25, 2018.
The workshop will take place on Thursday, September 14 at 10:00 AM, Gonda 1st floor conference room, and will focus both on the interpretations and implementations of the new policy and the modified application procedures.
Refreshments will be provided by the UCLA Integrative Center on Addictions.
Dr. Grant encourages attendees to review the following link in advance of the workshop: https://nexus.od.nih.gov/all/2017/08/11/4-questions-for-researchers-and-institutions-involved-in-human-subjects-research/
