BIOMATH M261: Responsible Conduct of Research Involving Humans

(former title: Ethics in Patient-Oriented Research)

Course Description: Lecture, two hours. Discussion of current issues in responsible conduct of clinical research, including reporting of research, basis for authorship, issues in genetic research, principles and practice of research on humans, conflicts of interest, Institutional Review Board (IRB), and related topics.  Obtaining a certificate of completion makes you eligible to submit a grant to the IRB.  (To receive a certificate of completion, registrants must attend at least seven of the ten lectures (sign weekly attendance sheet), submit proof of completion of one CITI basic course, and pass the take-home exam.)
